Heli-taxi service is expected to start from Hisar Airport to Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh in the first week of February. Moreover, air travel from Hisar to four other places, including Chandigarh, Jammu, Dehradun and Jaipur, is likely to start in the first week of April.

Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, approval for Heli-taxi service has been received from Centre to start these flights.

The fare for the three-seater heli-taxi will be ₹2,500 from Gaggal, Kangra Airport, to Hisar. This flight will benefit the passengers travelling from Hisar to Dharamshala and nearby areas and save their time.

On the other hand, the air service from Hisar Airport to Chandigarh (which was stopped a year-and-a-half ago) will resume in the first week of April. MLA Dr Kamal Gupta said that it was not easy to land airplanes in the mist due to the lack of night-landing facility. “Hence, the services were discontinued. Night-landing facilities are now being developed and lights are being installed.

The work is expected to complete in two to three months, after which air travel will start from Hisar to Chandigarh and Jammu, Dehradun and Jaipur. The fare will cost ₹4,500 for one way, out of which ₹1,500 will be borne by the Haryana Government, ₹1,500 by the Regional Connectivity Scheme, while the passenger will have to pay ₹1,500.
