Haryana assembly budget session from March 5

Haryana assembly’s budget session will begin at 5pm on March 5. The session will begin with the Governor’s address, who will present the roadmap for the financial year 2021-22

This time, no INLD MLA will be present in the session, as the lone MLA Abhay Chautala had resigned on January 26 in protest against the new agricultural laws. This will be the first time in three decades that not a single INLD MLA will be present in the House.

This time, the MLAs will be seated with a gap of two yards in the House. Following the Covid protocols, gallery for visitors will not be opened this time.

The media gallery will be built in Haryana Niwas. On the other hand, leader of opposition —Bhupindra Hooda– is set to move a no-confidence motion against the government in the House.

To tackle the opposition, government has sought written suggestions from the legislators regarding the budget. MLAs can send their suggestions by February 20. Good suggestions will be included in the budget including the names of the MLAs.

The decision to commence the budget session of Haryana assembly from March 5 was taken by a state Cabinet in its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, an official statement said.
