A Chandigarh based English language training institute, The English Edge organised an interesting activity on news gathering and anchoring. Students simulated the actual newsroom of a news channel and delivered a flawless news delivery experience, and that too in the online mode.
Students formed a team by virtual collaboration and researched to gather the important news of the day, from various spheres like international, national, sports news, weather update and more.
They also presented the news like a news anchor would using a common virtual background giving the impression of a genuine news programme. The event helped us to get a glimpse of the world of media and TV news and our experience of researching for news items and anchoring boosted our confidence of facing the camera, said one of the students.
