As Navratri commenced, the prices of fruits has also increased as they are the staple diet of this festival.
Fruits like Kinnauri apple, which used to sell for ₹100 kg in retail, is now selling for ₹140 per kg. On the other hand, bananas that used to sell for ₹50 to 55 in retail are now selling for ₹70 dozen.
Pomegranate which used to sell for ₹100 to 110 has now reached ₹130 to ₹150. Papaya’s price has risen from ₹35 to ₹40 per kg to ₹50 per kg. The price for coconut has also risen due to increased demand for offering. Earlier, coconut was available for ₹20, now it is fetching ₹30 to ₹35. Price of coconut with water has also increased from ₹40-45 to ₹50 to 55.
