Metacrafters.io Launches New AI-Powered Curriculum to Thousands of Students across Asian Universities

Metacrafters.io — a learning, certification, and job placement platform for next generation developers, announced it will be launching its first AI Course, this week via a series of live events for thousands of computer science students across multiple Indian university campuses – including Chandigarh University, Chitkara’s Rajpura and Baddi campuses,CGC Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Graphic Era and Dehradun Institute of Technology.

In February, Metcrafters launched its Blockchain curriculum live across 11 universities in the Philippines – Ateneo, FEU, Jose Rizal University, UP Diliman and iPeople Schools: Mapua University, Mapua Mindanao, Mapua Laguna, Mapua Digital College, UNC, APEC Schools and National Teachers College – and will now offer its new online AI course to these students as well.

Demand for AI developer skills have soared in recent months.  Employers of all sizes want to realize productivity gains from the proper application of generative AI tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion.

Metacrafters’ new AI course aims to consolidate AI learning content – previously fragmented across YouTube channels, blogs, social media, or lonely online courses lacking interaction with classmates or mentors into a fun and engaging course where developers can jump in and start building immediately while learning new skills, building meaningful portfolio projects, and taking inspiration from fellow classmates’ creations.

Metacrafters.io is the first project launched by Proof of Learn, Inc — a next gen education platform with a mission to unlock accessible, high-quality education across the world. Proof of Learn raised a seed round in Q1’2021 of approximately $17M, led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and joined by GoldenTree Asset Management, Wavemaker Ventures, Learn Capital, Rethink Education, and other investors.

Co-founder and CEO of Proof of Learn and Metacrafters, Sheila Lirio Marcelo, founded Care.com in 2006, revolutionizing care services by connecting skilled workers with fair-paying jobs in the care industry. “Like Care.com, Proof of Learn’s Metacrafters is designed with accessibility and equality as two of its key values, making high-quality education accessible to the 32 million developers around the globe for whom these new skills may open up life-changing employment opportunities.” says Proof of Learn’s Sheila Lirio Marcelo.

The new Metacrafters AI course covers:

  • Chat GPT & Midjourney for Coders: where students leverage AI as a coding copilot and creativity engine, overcoming challenges, coding faster, and building a front end, all with AI.
  • Prompt Engineering Fundamentals for Text and Images: where students uncover the mysteries of Chat GPT and large language models and design the perfect prompts to generate text on Chat GPT and images on Midjourney.
  • Customizing Chat GPT with OpenAI’s API: where students decipher word embeddings and layer custom data with the Chat GPT API, training Chat GPT and designing an AI companion as unique as they are!

“As developers ourselves, we want our projects to be fun. No one wants to write another ‘Hello, World’ app again,” said Kevin Yang, Co-Founder and head of the Metacrafters’ learning platform product. “The new AI course makes room for variety and creativity. As a hiring manager, I know that unique portfolios stand out. Our projects make it easier for our developers to show off their creativity no matter what industry they’re in. We want our projects to grow into unique, beautiful portfolios for our learners.”
