Panjab University (PU) is planning to call students on campus from January 1. However, permission will be required for this and it will depend on the Covid scenario at that time. If the number of cases is low, then most probably campus will open for students.
Pupils will be called and taught in classrooms according to a roster. Feedback is being taken from teachers and they can give their suggestions too. Also, research work will start from November 1 when the hostel open.
According to sources, around 16,000 students attend Panjab University. In Covid situation, all the students will not be called together and a roster will be prepared. Around eight to ten departments will open each day for classes. The durationof class and sitting arrangement are still to be figured out. Large classes can also be divided into two or their classes will then be held in a hall to follow social distancing. The plan will be finalised in December.
