JEE Advanced Result: Pune lad Chirag Falor secures AIR 1

Chirag Falor from the IIT Bombay zone topped the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2020, scoring 352 marks out of 396. The results were announced by Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) at jeeadv.ac.in on Monday.

Among women candidates, Kanishka Mittal (AIR 17) is the topper. Mittal obtained 315 marks out of 396 and wrote the exam from the IIT Roorkee zone.

According to official data, 1,50,838 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2 in JEE Advanced 2020, out of which, 43,204 qualified the exam. Of the total qualified candidates, 6,707 are females.

Of the 43,204 candidates who cleared the test, 17, 823 were in the general category, 9, 195 belong to Other Backward Classes (OBC), 7,852 from Scheduled Castes (SCs) while 2,811 are from Scheduled Tribes (STs).

JEE topper had received Bal Puraskar

Earlier this year in, Chirag Falor had received the prestigious Bal Puraskar award from Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi.

The PM took to Twitter on January 24 and congratulated Falor. He said, “Meet my friend Chirag Falor, a Bal Puraskar awardee. Winner of national and international math and science competitions, he represented India in the International Olympiad Award on Astronomy and Astrophysics. Chirag has a bright future ahead and I wish him success.”

Though Chirag has already been admitted to MIT and started his classes, he was still keen on appearing for JEE Avdanced. He has topped JEE Main and was preparing for JEE Advanced while attending his MIT classes online which started last month.

JEE Advanced 2020 was conducted on September 27, 2020. The exam consisted of 2 papers conducted in 3 hour shifts during the day.
