Final-year exams to be held by Sept end in Haryana

Exams for final-year students of all universities and colleges in Haryana will be conducted by the end of September and the results will be declared before October 31, 2020.

The decision was taken in a meeting organised by Haryana State Higher Education Council through video conferencing which was attended by the vice chancellors and controllers of examination of all government-aided universities. It was chaired by Haryana State Higher Education Council Chairman, Professor Brij Kishore Kuthiala.

A spokesman said that adequate arrangements will be made for around 2 lakh students studying in the final-year classes. He informed that as per the recommendation of the Union Ministry of Education and University Grants Commission (UGC), the state government has also given consent.

He informed that the vice chancellors of all universities have assured that ‘Standard Operating Procedure’ for Covid-19 will be followed meticulously.

Provisions have also been made for compartment and re-appear examinations for final year students in all universities. He said that the students who will be appearing for these examinations have been given permission to take the examination either through online or offline medium.

Accommodation will also be arranged in the hostels for students coming from faraway places. The spokesperson further stated that the examination question papers will be of multiple choices, short answer and explanatory answers.
