A case was registered against Punjabi singer Karan Aujla for violating Covid-19 rules singing ‘Peg Pug La Le’ song on the Christmas party organised at Playboy Club, Industrial Area, Phase 1, on Friday.
The case was filed by Chandigarh-based Pandit Rao Dhanerwar, assistant professor at Government College, Sector-46, at Chandigarh Police Headquarters, Sector-9. According to the complaint, the club had space for accommodating 300 people, but more than 600 people had gathered in it. Pandit Rao said that the Playboy Club hosted the party till late night and Punjabi singer Karan Aujla was also present without a mask.
Based on the complaint, the police has started investigation. Earlier, the UT Excise and Taxation Department had imposed a fine of ₹10 lakh on M/s Tricity Hospitality running Playboy Club and Lounge in the Industrial Area, Phase I, for doing business beyond 1 am on November 27. An order issued by Rakesh Kumar Popli, Additional Excise and Taxation Commissioner, stated that the bar was opened on its premises beyond 1 am and liquor was being consumed by guests.
