Man Arrested for Impersonating Examinee at Chandigarh School

At IS Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School, a 28-year-old man from Hisar, Haryana, was taken into custody on Saturday after he was suspected of attending for a different candidate during a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) test. The culprit, known as Kuldeep, was discovered to have cheated on the exam by using Nishant’s credentials.

The incident occurred during a Special Recruitment Drive examination when Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat, the centre superintendent, noticed discrepancies during the biometric verification process. Kuldeep’s biometric data did not match that of the registered candidate, Nishant, raising suspicions.

Authorities conducted a follow-up inquiry and found that Kuldeep had attempted to sit the exam in Nishant’s place by using his Aadhaar card, OMR sheet, and admission card. School administrators quickly informed the police and turned over Kuldeep along with the forged paperwork after realising the seriousness of the situation.

At the Sector 19 police station, the police have filed a case against Kuldeep by Sections 319(2), 318(4), and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. This instance highlights the continued difficulties with test security and the steps being taken to stop fraud at significant evaluations.

Authorities are reminding applicants of the severe repercussions of trying to mislead or impersonate someone else, as well as the significance of integrity in the examination process, while the investigation is still ongoing.
