The violence that initially erupted in Haryana’s Nuh during a religious procession has now spread to Gurugram, where protesters from two communities clashed near Sohna Road, resulting in damage to several vehicles.During the confrontation, three vehicles were damaged, and one was set on fire along the Sohna Road highway. The situation escalated with stone pelting, sloganeering, and arson being reported during the violent protest in Gurugram.
Police forces and fire brigades were rushed to the spot to contain the situation.Meanwhile, Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav warned the public of strict legal action for any objectionable post on social media.Earlier in the day, stones were pelted and cars set on fire during a religious procession in Haryana’s Nuh adjoining Gurugram. Two home guards were shot dead and about a dozen policemen injured as a mob in Haryana’s Nuh district tried to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession.
According to police, the mob pelted stones and set cars on fire in Muslim-dominated Nuh district. Following the incident, Section 144 was imposed in Nuh and mobile internet services were suspended in the district till August 2 as a precautionary measure.Sources close to India Today informed that Braj Mandal Yatra, being jointly organised by the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) was pelted with stones.Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other leaders cutting across party lines have appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony in the state.
