Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections will be held on December 24 and the counting of votes will be held on December 27, informed officials of the Chandigarh Administration. With this announcement, the elections model code of conduct has been imposed in Chandigarh. As per the schedule, the process to filing of nominations with start from November 27 and last date of filing the nominations will be December 4.
The scrutiny of nominations will be held on December 6 and the last date of withdrawal of candidatures will be December 9.
As many as 63,0311 voters (33,0713 male, 29,9581 female and 17 third gender) have the right to cast their vote. The polling will be held from 7:30am to 5pm and a total of 694 polling booths have been made.
