Pay scale of super specialist doctor to be revised soon by Punjab government to fill vacancies: Deputy CM OP Soni

Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Mr OP Soni today laid the foundation stone of 300 bedded government superspeciality hospitals at Handiaya.

Before the onset of event the deputy CM paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony flanked by Senior Congress leader Mr Kewal Singh Dhillon, the Deputy CM Soni said that this Super Speciality Hospital will prove to be a boon for the people of this area who would get best of the health facilities near their homes.

Soni said that Punjab government was currently providing 235 kind of medicines free of cost at all the government hospitals. He added that the Punjab government was committed towards providing best of the infrastructure and manpower to health sector. Also instruction have been passed to purchase the medicine that have not been available in government hospitals but are required by the patients. Mr Soni added that in order to streamline availability of medicines at different government hospitals in the state a mobile application is being developed on which availability of medicines will be easily accessible in public domain.

Responding to a media query he added that the pay scale of super specialist doctors is soon being revised by the Punjab government to ensure that number of super specialist joins government service and people get a respite. On the occasion he also announced giving Rs 2 cr financial aid to the Civil Hospital Barnala.

Soni added that the super speciality Hospital is spread in 6 acres of land. In the beginning of project Rs 40 crore grant has been approved for this project and for the further work consequent fund shall be allocated according to the needs. Prominent among others present included Pawan Goyal senior Congress leader, Director of Health Services Dr Andesh Kang and Dr GB Singh, DC Tej Pratap Singh Phoolka, DIG Gurpeet Singh Toor, SSP BS Meena, ADC Amit Bambi, SDM Varjeet Walia, Assistant Commissioner General Mr Devdarsb, civil surgeon Barnala Dr Jasvir Singh Aulakh and others were also present.
