Punjab Government on Friday postponed the implementation of 6th Pay Commission report and extended the term of the Commission till August 31, 2021.
Finance Minister Manpreet Badal had announced to implement the Pay Commission recommendation from July, 1, 2021. The decision of state government to extend the term has triggered wide spread resentment among the Punjab Government employees unions.
Punjab State Ministerial Services Union Punjab has strongly condemned the decision of state government and described the attitude of Finance Minister anti-employee. This issue was on agenda of the cabinet meeting held on June 2 but it was dropped at the last minute.
Democratic Employees Fedration and Democratic Teachers Front have also condemned the Capt Government decision to delay the implementation of 6th pay commission.
Bhupinder Singh Waraich state president of DTF, Jarmanjit Singh General Secretary and other leaders said that Capt Amarinder had returned to power on the promise of fulfilling demand of 6th pay commission within 100 days. They said that government had betrayed all sections and backtracked from its promises.
