Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO) has extended the tender application till January 4 for boating on the lake in Sector 42. CITCO had planned to start boating on the lake in Sector-42, along the lines of Sukhna Lake. The plan does not appear to be taking off as no company has shown interest in the tender.
A official said that the plan is to run two and four-seater paddle boats on a revenue-sharing basis to promote tourism. Earlier, the date of application was December 24, but as no company applied for it, the date has been extended.
