Haryana government is set to start the construction work of Hisar Airport formally next week and will hold Bhoomi Pujan on October 27.
Deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala said that all the formalities have been completed and the government wants to fulfil the dream of having an international airport for Hisar residents.
“The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change has given the green signal to start the construction work of the airport. Various meetings with aviation and aviation-related officials were held during the lockdown to build the airport” he said.
“The most important part of the expansion of Hisar Airport is the increase in the length of the runway. In addition to the existing runway, a new airstrip measuring 3,000 meters will also be constructed,” he said.
“Work will begin in a phased manner. Apart from the airstrip, a taxi-way, taxi stand, parking space for the ship, terminal, air traffic control system would also be built. The process of construction of boundary wall of Hisar Airport will start and the process of installing fencing for internal security is going on,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that state-of-the-art airport will be built, so that big airplanes can also land here at night. All arrangements will be made to deal with the problem of landing the ship in low visibility.
“There will be 24 hour airplane movement and Haryana will be developed as an aviation hub. The government will also focus on expanding the airstrips in Karnal and Panchkula, including the Aviation Club in Bhiwani, Adventure Sports Center in Mahendragarh,” he added.
