Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was the founder of the first Sikh Kingdom who paved way for a rule based on people’s welfare. These views were expressed by MLA Khanna Gurkirat Singh Kotli, who was the chief guest on the occasion of releasing a book chronicling the life and philosophy of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. The book has been edited by Dr Kuldip Singh.
The first copy was presented to journalist Baljit Parmar. Theatre artist Nirmal Jaura gave an overview of the book and Baba Banda Singh Bahadur International Foundation. President of foundation, Krishan Kumar Bawa, said that the sacrifice of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur is unparalleled in the annals of Sikh history. “The 350th Parkash Purb of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur would be commemorated with religious fervour”, said Krishan Kumar Bawa while thanking the Punjab government for declaring a gazette holiday on October 16, i.e the birth anniversary of the legendary Sikh personality.
