Haryana government is planning to set up four injury health benefit centres in the state for national and international players to help them recover from serious injuries. The process to develop the injury health benefit centres has been started in Rohtak.
According to Minister of State for Sports, Sandeep Singh, the first injury health benefit centre of the state will be set up in Panchkula and around five to six districts will come under one centre. Apart from Panchkula and Rohtak, two other centres will be selected soon.
Sandeep Singh said that there are different types of injuries during the game, some of which are cured by operation, while the injury to the muscle or minor fractures requires the help of physiotherapist. Sportspersons will be provided aid and physicians will help them overcome their injury at these centres.
With the absence of high-level centres in Haryana, players turn to Lucknow, Bengaluru, Bhopal and Guwahati for physiotherapy facilities. Singh said these injury health benefit centres will be equipped with world-class facilities and players will not need to go to other states if they are seriously injured. In special circumstances, if the player wants to go outside the country, then he will not be stopped.
