Zirka’s courageous approach has reaped rewards: the coach’s team, Zirka10, lead the McDonald’s FIFA World Cup™ Fantasy.
Zirka used their Bench Boost and Maximum Captain in Rounds 1 and 2 respectively, with the former snatching ten extra points and the latter ensuring they had hat-trick hero Harry Kanein his armband. Zirka also had Aleksandar Kolarov, a left-back, as his captain in Round 1, with the Serbian returning them 24 points.
YazanX and Blackwhite are merely eight points behind in joint second. YazanYaz benefited from having Kane and Romelu Lukaku up front in the first two rounds, while Philippe Coutinho has impressed throughout and having Wahbi Khazri as captain in Round 3 was a bold move, which bore fruit.
Blackwhite91 bagged a whopping 100 points in Round 1, with 55 coming from their back five: Kasper Schmeichel, Kolarov, Jose Gimenez, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. Another 94 points followed in Round 2, indebted to performances from Kieran Trippier, Takashi Inui and Mo Salah, before a disappointing Round 3.
