Advocate Minderjeet Yadav, Member Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana.
Raj Kumar Chauhan was unanimously declared elected as vice-chairman and Baljinder Singh Saini has been nominated for the post of secretary.
Advocate Yadav is a native of Rewari district in Haryana and was also serving as the deputy advocate general (DAG) in the advocate general (AG) office Haryana. He has also served as the chairman of the state bar council in 2012.
The meeting of the General House of the Bar Council was held on Saturday wherein the outgoing chairman and vice-chairman submitted their respective resignations.
The newly elected office bearers vowed to work for the welfare of the legal fraternity, solidify Bar and Bench relationship and ensure the integrity and independence of the legal profession.
