The physical trials for recruitment to the post of Constables in Punjab Police are being conducted since December 3, 2021, at PAP Campus, Jalandhar and are slated to complete on December 17, 2021. The whole process is being conducted under direct supervision of ADGP Community Affairs Division-cum-Chairperson, Central Recruitment Board for Recruitment of Constables (District & Armed Cadre) Male & Female, who is monitoring the trials personally.
Technology has been deployed to enhance accuracy of measurement in the trials and to ensure that the process is fair and transparent. The physical examination consists of measurement of height, along with race, long jump and high jump. Digital Height Measurement System has been deployed to measure height of a candidate accurately without human intervention. Also, RFID Timing System is being used to precisely measure the time taken by a candidate to complete the race. High-Definition CCTV cameras have been fixed to record all the events closely, including race, long jump and high jump. The candidates can directly meet the Chairperson and Members of Central Recruitment Board to get resolution to their complaints and appeals on the spot.
For maintaining integrity of the process and weeding out impersonators, a biometric verification system has been incorporated in addition to traditional measures such as matching photographs and signatures.Till date, 10 candidates have been found with the aid of technology whose fingerprint, photograph and signatures taken during physical trials did not match with the ones captured at the time of written test. Consequently, these candidates were handed over to SHO, Navi Baradari Police Station Jalandhar and 10 FIRs up to date have been lodged in this respect.
It is worth mentioning that approximately 25,500 candidates have been shortlisted as per merit, in their respective category, for 4,358 posts of Constable (District and Armed Cadre) in Punjab Police. More than 16,500 candidates have appeared for physical trials in the last 12 days. In case a shortlisted candidate has missed his trials or is unable to attend on stipulated date as per his/her Admit Card, he/she can come for trials on the last day scheduled for physical trials, i.e. December 17, 2021.
