A meeting was held in presence of Vinay Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Excise & Taxation Commissioner, Chandigarh today with the taxpayers dealing in School Uniforms, School Books and Stationary.
Issues relating to non-issuance of proper bills under the provisions of GST law and proper pricing of School Books were discussed. The Deputy Commissioner cum-Excise & Taxation Commissioner has instructed the Excise & Taxation Officers, Chandigarh that no laxity in issuance of bills to the customers be shown and maximum penalty will be levied on the defaulters.
Secretary Education Chandigarh informed that instructions have already been issued that school authorities should not recommend any particular shop for the purchase of books, uniform, stationery and other items. Action will be initiated against all those schools who will not comply with the directions.
The meeting was attended by Purva Garg, IAS, Secretary Education, Palika Arora, PCS, Director, Education School and Higher Education and officers from Excise & Taxation Department, U.T. Chandigarh.
