According to new guidelines issued by Education Department, timings of government schools for Classes 6 to 12 will be from 9am to 2pm from February 1 in Chandigarh. If the number of students is high in the class, then they can be called in two shifts.
Classes from 9 to 12 will run on their normal schedule till January 31. Currently, timings of Class 10 and 12 is from 9am to 11.30am, whereas Class 9 and 11 are held in the second shift from 12 noon to 2.30pm. From February 1, the timings of these classes will also be from 9am.
In the directions, the District Educational Officer (DEO) has written that the students will not be forced to come to school as per the government’s guidelines. If students or their parents want to, then they can attend online classes.
So far, only 40% students from Class 9 to 12 have been attending the physical classes.
Students should take care of these things while coming to school:
1. Must wear a mask.
2. Get the parents’ permission written on a paper or send a message to the school teacher.
3. Bring your own water bottle.
4. Maintain social distance with other students and teachers in school.
5. Keep distance from classmates even when the teacher is not in the classroom.
6. Students should bring their own geometry box, stationary, etc.
7. Students should sanitise their hands before and after class.
8. Avoid touching school walls and furniture.
9. After school is over, the student will not be allowed to move around. 10. Students should avoid shaking hands with classmates.
