Punjab’s first Taiwan Education Center (TEC) was inaugurated at Chitkara University, Punjab. The purpose of TEC is to boost and enhance the educational and cultural collaboration between Chitkara University and Taiwan.
During the Inauguration ceremony an MOU was signed between Chitkara University and National Tsing Hua University to formally commemorate the partnership. The TEC which had a soft launch a couple of months ago, already has 14 students enrolled in the program and will have more takers after the launch.
Present on the occasion were His Excellency Chih-Hao Jack Chen, Deputy Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC), Dr. Ashok K. Chitkara, Chancellor – Chitkara University, Dr. Wang, Wei-Chung, Director, Centre for India studies, National Tsing Hua University along with several other dignitaries including Li-ying Peters Chen, Director of Education Division (TECC), Dr. Cheng Po- tai, Deputy Director of Chinese Language Centre, National Tsing Hua University, Ms. Chung, Jui-Chieh, Programme Manager, Program Office for TEC in India, National Tsing Hua University.
Addressing the faculty, His Excellency Chih-Hao Jack Chen said, ‘The launch of Taiwan Education Center (TEC) at Chitkara University is a very good initiative as it would accelerate the growth of the educational, cultural, economic collaboration between India and Taiwan.’
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice-Chancellor at Chitkara University said, “Chitkara University is always committed to bring in the best of educational collaborations from around the world to our students in the campus. With the inauguration of the prestigious Taiwan Education Center (TEC) at our campus, we have moved one more step towards international collaborations. We thank TECC and NTHU for making this happen and look forward to making this initiative a grand success.”
