Surgery facility has started in Civil Hospital in Sector-22. Now, patients coming to this hospital will not need to go to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, to get operated. Keeping in mind the convenience of patients, the Health Department has also deployed orthopaedics and surgeons in the hospital. After getting these specialists, surgeries will be conducted in the OT of the hospital, which was closed. Caesarean delivery facility is already available in the hospital.
In the initial stage, small operations will be performed here and major surgeries will be referred to GMSH-16. Director Health Dr Amandeep Kaur Kang said that due to the lack of a surgeon, cases of surgery had to be referred to GMSH 16, despite having an OT in the hospital. Therefore, surgeons have been appointed in Civil Hospital Sector-22 to provide surgery facility to the patients of this region.
