Police has geared up for the upcoming festive season as Chandigarh markets will be crowded from Karvachauth to Diwali. In such a situation, police personnel will be deployed in plain clothes in different places to deal with eve teasers, snatchers, pickpockets, etc. Apart from this, the markets will be monitored by drone cameras.
Police will be present in crowded markets of Chandigarh in Sector 8, 19, 22, 35, 46, 34, 15, and nakas will be set up. All the police personnel have been instructed to patrol their respective areas and keep a close watch on suspects.
Police will inspect the markets and make the shoppers aware. Those who will be without masks, they will be intercepted and fined.
