Environmental awareness got a shot in the arm during the lockdown imposed due to COVID-19 pandemic in many countries. Images of mountain ranges, which were visible decades ago, started appearing again due to a reduction in pollutants. The air quality improved and so did the awareness about the damage been caused due to years of ignoring environmental health. SPHEEHA International – which is a registered NGO in India working towards Environment protection & awareness with chapters across the world has been conducting Drawing and Painting competition for kids since 2006.
This year on 8th November, SPHEEHA INTERNATIONAL is organising its 15th Speeha International Drawing & Painting competition with over 3200 kids having registered for the same. The event will be held in over 215 locations across the world spread in 4 continents, supervised by SPHEEHA INTERNATIONAL volunteers. Drawing and painting helps develop fine motor skills, writing, reading, creativity and boost self-esteem in kids. It is also an excellent way for children to express their feelings and emotions and when the expressions are coupled with environmental consciousness, it creates magic.
This year there are 4 categories in which the competition will be held as follows:
i. Category -1 (Junior) – up to 5th Class – Theme: Save Environment
ii. Category – 2 (Senior) – 6th – 8th Class – Theme: Go Green to save Earth
iii. Category – 3 (Super Senior) – 9th – 12th Class – Theme: Renewal Energy made easy
