10 days after receiving vaccine, Sonu Sood tests Covid positive

Actor Sonu Sood on Saturday said he has tested positive for Covid-19 in an Instagram post and is currently under quarantine, nearly ten days after receiving the vaccine.

The actor was recently made the brand ambassador for Punjab’s anti-coronavirus vaccination programme and had also met chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on April 10.

The 47-year-old actor shared a message for his fans: “Covid – positive. Mood and spirit – super positive. Hi every, this is to inform you that I have tested positive this morning for COVID-19. As a part of precautions, I have already quarantined myself and taking utmost care. But don’t worry this gives me ample time to solve your problems. Remember I am always there for you all.”

The actor had received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine on April 7.

Sood has been hailed as a hero on social media because of his philanthropic work for migrant workers during the pandemic. He arranged accommodation for thousands of migrant workers and sent them to their villages during and after the lockdown last year.

Meanwhile, Bollywood star Katrina Kaif on Saturday announced that she has finally tested negative for Covid-19 after contracting the deadly virus earlier this month. Recently, Vicky Kaushal, Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Paresh Rawal, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Rohit Saraf, among others had tested positive for the disease. Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and some others were also infected with the virus.

According to the Health Ministry on Saturday, India recorded 2,34,692 cases and 1,341 fatalities, pushing the Covid-19 tally to 1,45,26,609 and the death toll to 1,75,649.
