In Chandigarh, 240 cases and three deaths were reported on Monday, taking the total count to 10,298 and death toll to 123. There are 2,761 active cases in the city.
In Mohali, 150 cases and two deaths were reported, taking the count to 8,512 and death toll to 163. As many as 141 persons recovered from the disease bringing down the number of active patients to 2,642.
“Unlike the rapid surge in Covid-19 cases in about past ten days, the district witnessed somewhat respite with pace of acceleration slowing down in new cases coupled with improvement in the corresponding recovery rate”, said Girish Dayalan, deputy commissioner of Mohali.
Out of total 150 cases, 41 are from Mohali urban, 11 from Kharar, 26 from Gharuan, 50 from Dhakoli, 11 from Dera Bassi, 1 from Banur and 10 from Kurali.
Panchkula reported three deaths and 50 cases, which took the death toll to 67 and total count to 5,110. There are 1,270 active cases and 3,773 have been cured.
