Having earned $11 million last year from reviewing toys on YouTube, six-year-old Ryan will now debut his own brand of toys on Walmart’s 2,500 US stores and on the Walmart.com website from Monday. The brand ‘Ryan’s World’ is set to expand to other retailers as well in the month of October.
Ryan became a star through his YouTube channel named Ryan ToysReview in which he plays with toys and reacts to them. Ryan’s parents have held his last name and location as secret, due to his young age. As of 2017, Ryan became the 8th best paid YouTuber with over 15 million subscribers. The six YouTube channels of Ryan which has kept children enthralled has often drawn more than 1 billion views a month.
In March 2015, Ryan’s family members began recording and posting videos of him. The first video of Ryan was shot when he was 3-years-old and it shows him opening a Lego box and playing with it.
The deal with Walmart was negotiated by children’s media company pocket.watch on behalf of Ryan.
According to a report by Reuters last month, Pocket.watch has negotiated to license deals for a handful of online video stars to expand their reach through toys, apparel, and home products. The Ryan’s World merchandise, designed for ages 3 and up, is the first to come to market.
The products include T-shirts with four designs featuring Ryan’s favorite things including pizza.
