The Punjab government on Thursday appointed DGP Sidharth Chattopadhyaya as new Director, Vigilance Bureau.

Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu was reportedly backing his appointment as Punjab DGP head of police force. Sources said that a compromise has been reached within the warring groups within the Congress on Chattopadhyaya’s posting.
