SDM Kharar tests positive; Chd cases cross 7,000 mark

Chandigarh recorded 305 Covid cases and 3 three deaths on Friday, crossing the 7,000 mark with 7,292 case. The city has 2,606 active cases and 269 have been discharged.

In Mohali, one person lost the battle to Covid-19 and 204 new cases were reported on Friday, taking the tally to 6060 and total deaths to 126.

Sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Kharar Himanshu Jain is among the persons who were tested positive for the disease. There are 2,067 active cases in the district.

Dr Manjit Singh Civil Surgeon, Mohali, said, “SDM Kharar has tested positive and is in home isolation. Most of persons who tested positive today are asymptomatic.”

Out of 204 cases, 79 are from Mohali city, 27 from Kharar, 35 from Gharuan,  36 from Dhakoli, 4   from Dera Bassi,  13  from Boothgarh including Kurali and 10 from Lalru . Panchkula reported 180 new coronavirus– the highest single-day spike in the district. The district also witnessed two deaths, taking the fatality count to 40 and total cases to 3,812. Panchkula has 1,264 active cases. Eighteen of the 180 new cases were from Pinjore.
