Schools to arrange medical facility before calling students

The Education Department has sent a detailed advisory on the opening of schools to the heads of private and government schools. Students from class 9 to 12 will attend the school from November 2 with the permission of parents. The Education Department has also ordered senior officials to conduct inspections in schools. School in Chandigarh will have to arrange for medical facility before calling the students. Apart from this, cleanliness, sanitisation, social distance between pupils and teachers will have to be ensured by school. Also, Covid guidelines will have to be displayed on the school walls.

The schools have been asked to prepare their own SOP bases on UT guidelines for reopening schools. School will also provide stationery items to students, so that they don’t need to go outside. A child’s medical report will be sought before calling him/her to school.

Online learning will also continue and separate time tables will be created for online and offline learning. In online classes, teachers will talk to the parents of the students for at least three days a week. Students will take yoga classes in the morning and functional activities will be organised online for mental health. During online classes, students will have to submit projects and assignments from time-to-time.

Private schools will conduct a survey again on November 2

No private school is being opened on November 2, because barely 10 to 15% parents agreed to send their children to school. In such a situation, it will be difficult for the school to teach in both online and offline mediums. Private school will again conduct a survey on November 2 and schools will be reopened only if more than 50% parents agree to send children to school.
