RCB retain Virat Kohli for Rs 15 crore, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj also hold back

Royal Challengers Bangalore have decided to retain Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega-auction in January. Kohli, the highest run-scorer in the IPL, won’t be leading the team anymore therefore, RCB will have to find a skipper in the auction in January.

Kohli has been retained for Rs 15 crore, taking a pay cut of Rs 2 crore, while Maxwell and Siraj have been retained for Rs 11 crore and Rs 7 crore, respectively.”When I was contacted I didn’t have any second thoughts at all. I believe the best is yet to come, I have a good feeling about what’s to come from the next season onwards.”Committed as an RCBian, we could not be more thankful. I’ll be there with my heart and soul for RCB as always,” Virat Kohli said. IPL retention rules allow franchises to hang on to four players out of which two can be overseas cricketers. The franchise will be spending Rs 42 crore if they retain 4 players, leaving them with Rs 48 crore to spend in the IPL 2022 mega-auctions in January
