Now, Rajinikanth to launch political party in 2021

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth on Thursday announced on his Twitter handle that he will launch his political party in January next year, adding that he would announce the launch date on December 31.

Assembly elections are due in Tamil Nadu next year.

“We will surely win the assembly polls and give honest, transparent, corruption-free, spiritual politics without caste and creed. A wonder and miracle will definitely happen,” Rajinikanth tweeted with hashtags “It’s now or never” and “We will change, we will change everything”.

He had met the district secretaries of ‘Rajini Makkal Mandram’ – a political extension of his fan club – on Monday and deliberated the possibility of his political foray.

“District office bearers expressed their opinions. They have said they will agree to whatever decision I take. I will announce my decision as soon as possible,” he said.

In October, Rajinikanth had for the first time disclosed that he had undergone a kidney transplant in 2016 and the doctors were against him venturing into politics in view of the pandemic. He had first announced his decision of entering politics in December 2017 but he had not taken any concrete steps to build his party.
