Punjabi singer Jazzy B announces new song ‘Zimmidar’ in farmers’ support

Indian-Canadian playback singer Jaswinder Singh Bains, famously known as Jazzy B, on Saturday announced the release of his new single in support of farmers.

He took to Twitter to make announcement by releasing the digital poster of his new song ‘Zimmidar’. The poster depicts the ongoing protest against the three farm bills.

Penned by lyricist Balkar Nandgaria, the song is produced by the singer’s music banner Jazzy B Records and Dinesh. The music is composed by Karnail Muzik Factory.  The date of the release has not been disclosed yet.

While many Punjabi artists reached the Delhi-Haryana border in support of the farmers’ agitation, Jazzy B came out on the streets of Vancouver in solidarity with the protesting farmers. In his earlier tweet, he urged the social media users to support the hashtag #FarmersDoneWithModiJumlas to support the farmers.

In an interview with Canadian news channel Global BC on December 6, Jazzy shared why he is connected to farmers protest by saying, “I grew up in Canada but I have seen my dad working in India. Me and my staff working on the farm picking berries, doing all the farm works. I have went through it all so I find it is important for me to share…Some people don’t realize that it is not the farmers suffering because of this, we all eat food every day. Does not matter if you are the biggest businessman in the world or doing whatever… but at the end of the day why are we working so hard? …To have food on our table.”
