Punjab State Talent Search Examination to be held on Jan 3

After being postponed twice, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has decided to conduct the Punjab State Talent Search Examination (PSTSE) on January 3, 2021.

The State Talent Search examination was earlier scheduled for December 13 but was postponed by the council due to Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day that falls on December 19.

The registration process for the examination lasted till November 15. Punjab State Talent Search Examination (PSTSE) is conducted annually by the state government for students of Classes 8 and 10 to provide financial help. A total of 5,561 students have registered online to appear for the exam. The district education department has set up 26 examination centres in the district to conduct the exam.

As per the council, the roll number, timing of the exam, and centres will remain the same. New admit cards will not be issued. This move by the council will give extra time to students to prepare for the exam.

A target has been set to provide financial aid to 500 students each of Class 8 and 10. The students will be selected on the basis of merit. General and subject-related knowledge will be tested in the exam which will be of 180 marks. Students of general category require at least 40% and reserved category children require 32%. The medium of examination is English and Punjabi.
