MI buy Ishan Kishan for record INR 15.25 crore; Pooran to SRH for 10.75 crore

Ishan Kishan is the most expensive buy so far this auction as Mumbai India break the bank and secure him for INR 15.25 crore. The IPL 2022 Auction has resumed with Charu Sharma taking over the duties for the day from an unwell Hugh Edmeades collapsed mid-event earlier today. And it didn’t take a long time for the teams to battle hard. So far, Shreyas Iyer and Harshal Patel have bagged the biggest bids. We witnessed a multi-team bidding war for Wanindu Hasaranga and he was eventually bought by RCB for INR 10.75 crore. While KKR bought Iyer for INR 12.25 crore, RCB broke the bank for Harshal Patel, getting him back for INR 10.75 crore. At the start of the day, Punjab Kings were in business early, buying Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada. Kolkata Knight Riders bought back Pat Cummins. Rajasthan Royals picked Trent Boult and R Ashwin before Lucknow Super Giants bagged Quinton de Kock. Mohammed Shami and Faf du Plessis have gone to Gujarat Titans and RCB, respectively. David Warner is going to reunite with Delhi Capitals. RR also bought Devdutt Padikkal and Shimron Hetmyer, while Uthappa and Jason Roy were bagged for their base prices. Smith, Miller, and Raina go unsold. Keep a special eye out for the likes of Ishan Kishan and Shardul Thakur- for they are expected to fetch the biggest amounts.

Jason Holder goes to Lucknow, while Dwayne Bravo is back with CSK, while Nitish Rana returns to KKR. After that, Deepak Hooda was sold to Lucknow. After the break, Washington Sundar has been purchased for INR 8.75 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Krunal Pandya went to Lucknow Super Giants before Mohammed Nabi and Wade went unsold. Dinesh Karthik was picked up by RCB, while PBKS bagged Bairstow.

Ravichandran Ashwin, meanwhile, was bought by the Rajasthan Royals for ₹5 crore.

  • Kagiso Rabada is Sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 9.25 Crores. In the IPL, Kagiso Rabada has been a big part of the Delhi franchise’s recent success.
  • Shreyas Iyer is sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 12.25 Crore. His base price was Rs. 2 crore.
  • Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins is sold to KKR for Rs 7.25 Crores. He became the most expensive overseas buy in IPL history when Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs 15.5 crore at IPL 2020 auction.
  • Ravichandran Ashwin is sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 5 crores. Ravichandran Ashwin was part of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 onwards after being signed from Punjab Kings (Than Kings XI Punjab) at 7.6 Crore
  • David Warner sold to Delhi Capitals for INR 6.25 Crore
  • Quinton de Kock SOLD to Lucknow for INR 6.75 crore
  • Mohammed Shami grabbed by Gujarat Titans for INR 6.25 Crore
