On the directives of Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu, Food and Drug Administration Department has launched a special drive to check adulterated food items in view of festival season.
The Minister said that the public is already under risk due to the pandemic and assessing the situation, the Government has banned adulterated or spurious sweets containing milk and milk products. The Administration would ensure that the standard quality milk khoya, paneer and other sweets shall be made available for the public.
Strict directions have been issued in this regard. The minister advised the vendors to be cautious and directed the department to take strict action against the persons involved in adulteration.
