Punjab chief minister (CM) Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday flagged off Corona Testing Mobile Clinic and Ambulance, which has been donated by Vikramjit Sahney, chairman of Sun Foundation & International.
Explaining the salient features of the mobile clinic, Sahney said that it has contact-less thermal testing with nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab tests. “The fully air conditioned mobile unit also has a separate Ambulance zone to evacuate critical patients. It has the potential for sampling of 1,000+ people per day at the doorsteps of the patients, especially in rural and semi-urban areas to achieve Mission Fateh Punjab,” he said.
The CM said that this mobile testing bus is the need of the hour and would cover remote and far flung areas. “It will ensure that people inhabiting these regions have access to the testing apparatus which is necessary to identify people infected by Covid-19,” he said.
Presently, the state government has the capacity to conduct 24,000 tests per day and the target is to achieve the milestone of 30,000 tests by next week.
