The Punjab government has announced additional restrictions on Saturday in cities of Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala to contain the spread of coronavirus during the unlock 3.0.
As per the new advisory, the night curfew will continue from 9pm to 5am within municipal limits of these three cities for all non-essential activities. However, essential activities including operation of multiple shifts, movement of persons and goods on national and state highways and unloading of cargo and travel of persons to their destinations after disembarking from buses, trains and aeroplanes will be allowed. Similarly, all industries running into 2-3 shifts will also remain open.
Restaurants, hotel, liquor vends and other hospitality units can remain open till 9pm and shops and shopping malls till 8pm. Restaurant/hotels situated within shopping malls can remain open till 9pm and liquor vends also till 9pm, the guidelines by the Punjab government read.
Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Patiala are among the most impacted cities in the state where the number of Covid-19 cases have risen significantly.
