Punjabi actor, director Sukhjinder Shera passes away

Famous Punjabi actor and director Sukhjinder Shera passed away in Uganda at night. He had been suffering from typhoid-fever since few days.

Jagdev Singh, Shera’s assistant, said that he had gone to visit his friend in Kenya, South Africa, on April 17. There, he had developed a fever on April 25. Soon after, he developed pneumonia and was admitted to a hospital.

Sukhjinder Shera belonged to Malkapur village, Jagraon. Sukhjinder Shera started his acting career with the movie Yarri Jatt Di in the year 1987. He has also worked in movies such as Jorr Jatt Da, Jatt Te Zameen and various other superhit Punjabi classics. His last movie was Yaar Belly in the year 2018.

According to the veteran producer DP Singh Arshi, who is one of Shera’s closest friends, his family wants to bring his body to Punjab. But due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family is facing a lot of difficulties.

The year 2021 has been sad for the Punjabi industry. In March, the whole industry was pained with the demise of legendary singer Sardool Sikander. Likewise, Punjabi singer Diljaan died in a road accident. In April, Punjabi lyricist Surjit Singh Gill departed for the heavenly abode.

Earlier on April 10, famous Punjabi artist Satish Kaul, who was called Amitabh Bachchan of Pollywood, died from Corona infection.
