Prime Minister Narendra Modi Engages in Key Diplomatic Talks at G7 Summit in Italy

At the 50th G7 Summit in Apulia, Italy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded a series of significant bilateral discussions in which he underscored India’s dedication to backing worldwide cooperation and bolstering ties with some other world leaders.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi encountered different global leadership figures and discussed a range of topics related to fair growth and sustainable development. One important discussion he made was with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in which he emphasized the utmost importance of the India-Germany strategic alliance for global economic expansion.

During his encounter with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida, Modi expressed interest in stepping up cooperation between India and Japan in the defence sector, technology, renewables and digital innovation. He underscored the need for stable relations between India and Japan to maintain peace and prosperity in the Asian region.

Discussions on strengthening bilateral relations of business, energy, military, and new technologies such as biofuels and vital minerals were some of the key issues addressed in the meeting between Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the Italian Prime Minister. Modi showered accolades on Meloni for inviting India to the G7 Summit, applauding Italy for its cordial reception.

Recently diplomatic tensions notwithstanding, Modi met Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, in order to talk over ways through which they could enhance bilateral cooperation amid common difficulties and possibilities. He stressed that India is ready to work with US new President Joe Biden in order to solve international issues effectively.

During his meeting with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Modi reiterated India’s commitment to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, particularly in semiconductors, technology, and defence.

The summit marked India’s active engagement as an Outreach Nation, with Modi participating in discussions that encompassed global economic recovery, climate action, and pandemic resilience.

Prime Minister Modi’s speech at the G7 Summit emphasized India’s active role in forging a robust and welcoming global order. He underlined the need for collaboration in addressing critical global concerns, as well as fighting for fair development and sustainability.
