In view of the rising petrol and diesel prices, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged state governments to cur tax on fuel to provide relief to consumers.
Last year in November, the Centre had cut the tax on fuel prices but some state governments did not follow through.It is injustice to people and other states,” PM Modi said while holding a review meet of chief ministers in the wake of rising Covid cases in the country.Maharashtra, Bengal, Tamil Nadu and some other states did not cut the tax on petrol/diesel prices, the PM said.
