The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has released a new list of hiked toll tax which will be applicable from April 1. With this, the toll tax on Kundli–Ghaziabad–Palwal (KGP) Expressway or National Expressway 2 has been increased by ₹15 for a car and ₹100 for a truck.
The new charges of the KGP Expressway are ₹240 instead of ₹225 for a car and ₹1540 instead of ₹1440 for the truck. However, there will be some relief for the drivers coming from Ghaziabad, because the Kundli toll plaza has been made free by the protesting farmers.
Around 60,000 drivers commuting on this route from Haryana, UP, Jammu Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat will be affected by this hike.
The rush on KGP route has increased ever since the farmers blocked the Kundli border. However, there has been no increase in the car’s toll tax till the interchange up to Baghpat.

The toll tax at Bhigan Chowk in Murthal on National Highway-44 has increased the charges on both sides from ₹5 to ₹25. Toll for commercial vehicles has also increased by ₹25 and people living within 20 km radius of the toll plaza will now have to pay ₹10 more for the monthly pass. However, due to the farmers’ agitation, no toll is being charged currently.
