Panjab University (PU) may get a permanent registrar in November. There are many contenders for this post who are making recommendations from their respective levels. The post is for three years.
The chair became vacant after Prof Karamjit Singh, ex-registrar, became the vice-chancellor of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University.
A month ago, the charge of the post was given to Finance & Development Officer (FDO) Vikram Nayyar.
The term of the Senate is till October 31. After that, another person will be given the charge. Sources say that the post of FDO is the responsibility.
Sources say, as both –posts of registrar and FDO– are demanding, it is difficult for one person to handle both positions. Therefore, someone else will be appointed.
