Panjab University (PU) has extended the date of filling the examination form to November 27. Earlier, the date was November 10.
Panjab University had collected examination fees from students last year, but the exams could not be conducted in May due to the Covid pandemic lockdown. They were conducted in September, but they were held online and did not cost much.
Students say that the examination fee was charged by PU last year and that money has not been utilised properly. Therefore, that amount should be adjusted in this year’s examination fee. They said that due to Covid, financial crisis has arisen in all the families. In such a situation, the students will get relief if the previous examination fee can be adjusted.
While several student organisations held a demonstration, PU administration extended the date for depositing fees. Also, students can fill the examination form till December 26 with late fees. This will provide relief to those students who were unable to arrange the money. A meeting will be held to decide whether the previous examination fee can be adjusted and a decision will be taken in this regard.
