Even though UT Advisor Manoj Parida took to Twitter on Saturday morning to clarify that restaurants and shops providing essential services will remain open, chaos prevailed in the city. Some eating joints in Sector 9 were allegedly closed by the authorities. The situation was the same in Sector 32.
There were also some incidents of police getting into spats with some shopkeepers. The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal had also organised a protest regarding the administration’s last minute decision.
