To avoid crowding of patients in the hospital amid the pandemic, Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, has taken a new initiative and commenced the facility of providing test reports of suspected Covid patients via message on their mobiles.
According to the hospital administration, at present, the report of rapid kit comes within 15 to 20 minutes. The report is uploaded on the portal and the message is sent to the mobile number provided by the patient.
This step was taken so that the patient does not need to come to the hospital time and again. After receiving the report via text message, the patient will only need to come back to the hospital is he/she tests positive for Covid.
Increased risk of hospital infection
Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr VK Nagpal, said that the risk of infection is high due to the high number of people coming from different places in the hospital. To solve this problem, the facility of giving test report of rapid kit through message has been started.
“Soon, the facility of sending the report of the RTPCR to the patient through message or online will be started. For this, work is being done in collaboration with the National Information Centre and the process of preparing the portal is underway,” he added. Doctor Nagpal said that the rapid kit is examined in the hospital itself, whose report is often given to the patient immediately but in the RTPCR examination, the sample is sent to PGI and the report comes after 24 hours.
