No let up, surge in COVID-19 cases

Chandigarh reported four deaths and 276 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, taking the Union Territory’s death toll to 63.  The city’s coronavirus tally stands at 5,065.  At present, the city has 2,116 active cases.

In Mohali, 130 persons tested positive for COVID -19 and one death was reported on Thursday. With this, the total number of positive persons goes up to 4,223, of which 1,872 are active cases. The death toll of the district stands at 90. 

Of the positive persons, 55 cases have been reported from Mohali urban areas, 10 from Kharar, 25 from Gharuan, 4 from Boothgarh, 15 from Dhakoli, 14 from Dera Bassi, 6 from Lalru and one from Banur. 

In Panchkula, 128 new cases of COVID-19, including one death were reported.

The total count of COVID-19 has reached 2,672 in the district and 24 deaths have been reported. There are 1,055 active cases and 1,593 persons have been discharged.
